Bacteriocins are antimicrobial peptides with toxic effects produced by many bacteria and display inhibitory activity particularly active against strains of species related to the producing species. We developed a database, which is a large inventory of the currently sequenced bacteriocin sequences gathering as much as 1984 different bacteriocins sequences belonging to 79 different genra.
